Yuwan is an architectural designer, communications curator, and cultural liaison based in bKL’s Shanghai office. She is constantly searching for deeper meaning that goes beyond arbitrary choices of inspiration or pure aesthetic appeal and are instead guided by the clients’ brand and the implicit challenges of the project. She considers how her approach to the built environment can provide inspiration and value to bKL’s clients.
Yuwan earned a bachelor and master’s degree in Environmental Art Design from Donghua University located in Shanghai, China. She was employed as an architectural designer in China’s rapidly growing real estate market. During this time, she recognized a gap in communication between architect and client, and a lack of understanding of how to build a “better living space.”
In an attempt to bridge this disconnect, Yuwan returned to school at the Illinois Institute of Technology earning a Master of Business Administration. With this degree she discovered how a successful relationship between business management and architectural design can enhance an architectural practice. She is actively pursuing licensure.
